Highlights Of 1st XI Captain's Report For 2002 Season
![]() |
Only 4 wins in the season: Great Hampden (2), Binfield and Great Kingshill Real difficulty is lack of numbers We tried not to steal the 2nd XI's best players when we were short, but this meant the inclusion of youngsters I suggest that we choose the best 11 available players each week for the 1st XI, then choose the 2nd XI from the remaining available players In the long run we will attract players only if we are seen as a competitive club, and this will be through the results of the 1st XI |
Highlight of the season? The 6-wicket away win over Great Kingshill. They knocked up 239, but Paul Hazell was in excellent form and set up the game with his 141, and we reached our target (courtesy of a lightning 17 from Steve Tidbury) with an over to spare.
Hope for the future? The final game of the season gave us just that: we completed the double over Great Hampden, courtesy of Flash's second ton of the season (We made 239/2 in total) and Joe O'Hara's best bowling of the season (5/26) as they were skittled for 133.
Congratulations:
