Hail to the Tobinator

What is a Tobinator? The Tobinator is a set of precision CNC machined alloy components which allow you to raise and adjust your R1100GS, R1150GS or R1150GS Adventure screen. Increased airflow under the screen, plus the infinite adjustability, eliminates the buffeting. More info here.

Denham 1st XI

V Braywood 1st XI

Saturday 24th July

Captain Dave Maynard's Report

Hail to the Tobinator, the Flashing Blade

Denham won the toss and elected to field on a plum batting track.

The opposition were constrained to 248-8 off 50 overs, with an excellent bowling spell from James Nicholas of 2/54 in 15 overs.

He was supported well by Faisal Mahmood and Jamil Shiakh, both taking 2 wickets each, and by Stuart Payne - only giving away 4 byes in the whole innings while taking a stunning catch.

Denham, given 50 overs to get 249, got off to an excellent start with Colin (Flash) Tobin and Bobby Rai putting on 106 for the first wicket, before Bobby Rai was caught, two short of what would have been an well-deserved fifity.

Denham lost their skipper quickly in a run out disaster, but Faisal Mahmood came to the wicket and supported Colin Tobin well, these two knocking up 92 in good time before Faisal departed for 44.

Joe O’ Hara, James Nicholas and Stuart Payne perished in the search for quick runs, but Flash - a superb 108 at stumps - and Jamil Shiakh carried us over the finishing post, with 4 wickets and 7 balls to spare.

A great win for Denham.

Points: Denham 20 Braywood 8.

Braywood 2nd XI

V Denham 2nd XI

Saturday 24th July

Denham lost a close encounter by 2 wickets.

Denham got off to good start with Mark Dalton and Chris Ambler (40), but we had a mid-order collapse and so we only reached 186/9 off the full 52 overs.

Braywood started very brightly, but the introduction of Harish Bhatt (4/36) and Akhil Saberwhal (2 wickets) - and begun by a splendid catch by Atwal off Akhil - gave Denham hope.

Despite taking wickets at one end, we could never dismiss their main man and they struggled over the finish line with 2 wickets to spare.

Points: 8 for Denham, 14 for Braywood
