Peter Roland Frost
Died Lincoln 5th December 2004
Peter Frost came to Denham CC in the early fifties. He was one of a group of fit young men from the Hayes area, who joined the club in answer to a plea for members, placed in the Uxbridge Gazette.
These men boosted the club membership and playing strength, which was much needed at the time. Many of the men subsequently went on to other, bigger clubs, but Peter remained loyal to Denham for many years. He often returned to the club for Dinners and reunions after his work circumstances caused a move far away.
Peter played a full part in the life of the club. He captained the 2nd XI for some time and served on various committees. Peter was ambidextrous with the bat and his slow bowling produced many wickets. He could always be relied upon to 'turn up' if selected and his even temperament and good nature enhanced team spirit.
His participation in the touring sides who played at Cambridge, the Isle of Wight and Sussex was valuable both from the playing and social points of view.
Peter's enthusiasm for club and cricket never waned. We have lost a true character of the game, one who will be remembered with affection by all his friends and associates.
