The Existential Crusade:

Russell Bowry Does John O'Groats to Land's End Sept 23rd 2006 Episode Two : Fort Augustus to Fort William |
![]() |
I am
currently sitting in a Youth Hostel which sits underneath Ben Nevis, having
just finished the Great Glen Way, which runs from Inverness to Fort William.
It has been much better walking because of the better scenery and the ground underfoot. Most of the route follows Loch Ness and the stupidly named Loch Lochy, and there are plenty of munros and other stupidly named Scottish Hills around as well. It all makes for a pleasing experience I can assure you. |

| Unfortunately
I can't report any sitings of Nessie, or stupid incidents which I have got
myself involved in. This is mainly due to things going according to plan.
Although I am losing quite a bit of weight. My 32 inch waist trousers are constantly in danger of falling down. Could be something to do with my diet. Most days I have a laissez-faire attitude to nutrition until I finish walking. The best example of this was on Weds, when I had half a pack of garibaldi biscuits and a can of Foster's for lunch. Don't worry though, a big meal in the evening seems to sort me out fine. Have now walked exactly 200 miles from John O'Groat's and am a little bit knackered. Tommorow I start the West Highland Way. |
