Fielder catching

Six-Gun Simon Is In Town

Three To Start With...

On Saturday 3rd May Denham rolled over Haste Hill.

On a bowler-friendly pitch, Denham patiently amassed 177/4 in their 40 overs. Paul Hazell was restricted to 43, Andy Leach notched up a rapid 41 not out, while the much maligned Steve Bull played the anchor role with his unbeaten 34.

Excellent bowling by Ambrose Treacy (3/11) and Jeff Simpson (3/9) produced the breakthroughs, aided by some fine catching, then Simon Johnson polished them off (3 for 1 in under 3 overs), with Haste Hill crumbling to 31 all out.

...And Three Makes Six

On May 4th a weak Rickmansworth side were crushed to give the Sunday side its first win of the season.

Simon Johnson carried on from Saturday with a wicket in this second ball, finishing with 3/27 in a splendid spell. The other wickets were shared among the bowlers, with Geoff Inglis chipping in with two, and, wonder of wonders, two catches. Rickmansworth were all out for 134.

Pete Schembri (52 - his first fifty of the season) and Andy Leach (55) bludgeoned an unbeaten century partnership to bring Denham home by nine wickets.
