Cricketers Darts League:

A lucky 13 win for Denham

Alex Marman's Report: 22/10/08

Denham continued their excellent start in the darts league with their 3rd win in a row with a convincing 13-2 victory over Eastcote C.C., which now means they top the league table again above Bessborough by 2 points.

The only real shock in the pairs matches, was that the only pair who dropped a leg was James "Skip" Nicholas and Joe "Gentle" O'Hara. However, their contest was full of good quality darts with ton pluses and dead-eye finishing from both of the pairs involved (shown by James' record of 7 ton pluses in one match!!).

3-0 victories were wrapped up by the rest of the Denham players in the pairs, with further victories in the fours with one highlight being Alex "Ringer" Marman trying to make up for his actions in the game against Uxbridge, coming up with a double in the 2nd of the fours matches.

However, sloppy darts cost Denham a further victory in the eights which was in some part down to the fact that the "Ringer" rather stupidly read the wrong team score when throwing for the leg. D'oh!!

However, it was a satisfying win for Denham with every member of the team contributing with Pete "Killer" Schembri once again showing his quality when it comes to hitting doubles, Michael "Hoppy" Marman showing that he can hit doubles again after his Ickenham "nightmare" and Dan "Chicken" Sutton showing his all-round ability once more, with both high scoring darts and match winning doubles, while Keith "Biggun" Ackermann continued what he does best in winning legs and more!!

Note:- Ken "Grandad" Knowlson was unable to participate due to illness. Get well soon Ken!!

Fact:- Tom "Daddy" Reynolds has the best record of any player in the darts league in terms of winning legs, with 14 legs won out of the 15 legs he has played in.
